It is widely used in shaped and unshaped refractories that typically employ corundum or high-alumina bauxite-such as iron runner castables, taphole clay, ladle castables, Al-Mg-C bricks, tundish precast shapes, high-alumina wear-resistant castables, and glass furnace refractory bricks. It can replace a portion of standard corundum and high-alumina bauxite, effectively reducing raw material costs by 10%–30% while maintaining refractory quality.
